Futsal Ballarat squad dominates at FFV 2018 JSL Futsal Cup!

Building on their recent successes at the 2018 FFV State Futsal Championships the Futsal Ballarat boys again showed their class winning the Under 9 & Under 10 Championships and narrowly missed a 3rd title with the U8’s going down in the Grand Final to finish Runner Up.

Futsal Ballarat Managing Director Dermott Tebb said “the boys have all trained exceptionally hard over the past few months and it was great to see them get the reward for all their hard work. I was especially pleased with the 8’s group who competed in the 9’s competition and made it all the way to final before being beaten by our own 9’s squad.”

The JSL Futsal Cup drew over 40 teams from Metropolitan Melbourne as well as Eastern and Western Victoria. Tebb said, “for our club to come away from this event with two Championship winning teams and a runners up trophy is an outstanding result. Importantly it gave us the opportunity to test the development and progress of our players and coaches and I was delighted with the results both in terms of the futsal played and also the spirit and sportsmanship that our players and coaches displayed throughout the entire tournament”.

FFV & Tournament Director Mark Georgeson complimented Ballarat’s thriving development program saying “it was great to see the Ballarat teams competing so well at this tournament and ultimately being rewarded with 2 Grand Final wins. It’s a credit to the clubs development program that you can see the Ballarat players now have the ability to compete with the Metro teams and they are producing some of the best kids in the State”
